During the 2009 Milan Furniture Fair, both the British Design Embassy and Plus Design Gallery will be showcasing Cohda?s latest experimental design in the Roughly Drawn Series, the RD21. Hand-woven in the UK from recycled domestic plastic waste the chair explores the latest of Cohda's research into the tooling process and technical experimentation of recycled plastics in design.
The British Design Embassy (www.britishdesignembassy.it) will be opened for the first time outside of the UK as part of this year?s Salone del mobile. The Design Embassy housed in Milan?s Gallery Moderna will display Cohda?s RD chairs alongside the work of British designers such as Tom Dixon, Jasper Morrison, Ross Lovegrove and Ron Arad.
Plusdesign Gallery presents nine new design objects especially created by international artists and designers for Plusdesign. Plusdesign is a gallery dedicated to contemporary design and is also a brand, which produces 21 limited editions of design furniture by artists and designers sharing an experimental vocation. This years designers include Fernando and Humberto Campana, Richard Hutton, Falvio Favelli, Anila Rubiku, Robert Orchardson, Francesco Simeti and Valentina Ravara, Luca Trevisani, Patrick Tuttofuoco and Cohda's Richard Liddle.
